Foot Orthotics

An orthotic is a device used by podiatrists to realign the skeletal position of the body to allow it to function in an ideal position. This can improve the way that certain muscles or joints/bones are used during gait, resulting in less stress/strain on the body during movement. Orthotics can help to reduce current pain in your body and/or prevent possible future problems that can occur from faulty biomechanics.

All custom foot orthotics are made in my own manufacturing lab, which keeps costs lower for you. They are not 3D printed by machines; they are hand crafted. Therefore, they may not look seamless, but I can certainly guarantee the quality of their function and patient satisfaction.

Orthotic Types:

  • Custom Foot Orthotics: a device that is obtained through plaster casting and constructed specifically to the individual, the orthotic shell is made from polypropelene (a durable, hard plastic) and a soft cover is added.

  • Prefabricated Foot Orthotics: a pre-made, basic orthotic that are ideal for children and those on a budget, made from a moderate density, high quality EVA foam; easily adjustable and comfortable to wear.

Biomechanical Assessment

Foot, ankle, leg, hip or lower back pain? It could be due to the way that you walk.

An assessment involves gait analysis & muscle/joint testing to determine the sources of pain or inefficiency in your body to develop a treatment plan that is right for you.

Muscles and joints will attempt to compensate for faulty biomechanics, but every structure has its limits. However, if the fundamentals are addressed, then movement can be more efficient and pain-free. If the walls in your house start to crack or the roof starts to dip, it is usually a problem with the foundation. Your body is no different!

Dry Needling

Dry Needling involves using a thin acupuncture needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate trigger points in muscle (ie “knots”) and connective tissues for the management of neuromusculoskeletal and movement impairments.

At the clinic, services are offered for the entire lower limb (eg hamstrings, quads, legs, calves and feet). Treatment can benefit muscle tightness/soreness as well as connective tissue disorders like plantar fasciitis (heel pain) in the foot.

A dry needling session is charged at the same cost as a normal consultation.

Fungal Nail 120

Are your nails thickened or discoloured? Well, there could be a fungal nail infection. But how can you tell?

At the clinic we offer the ‘fungal 120’ which is the diagnosis, treatment and long-term management of fungal nails.

Here’s how it works:.

  1. Diagnosis- firstly, we find out if they are definitely fungal. This is done via an in-clinic test that takes 5 mins and is 95% accurate in diagnosing if a fungal infection is present in the nail.

  2. Treatment- involves reducing nail bulk to make long term treatment more effective.

  3. Management- you will be given one of the most effective off-the-shelf nail solutions for you to use at home.

All of this for only $120! No catches or gimmicks, just real solutions.
